Last night I had a (free) trial class of “Northstar-style” jūjutsu at the local recreation centre. Fun, and I was drenched in sweat inside of five minutes! Exactly what I need, perhaps: a chance to work on flexibility, upper-body strength and general endurance; my marathon training plan (“beginner level #1”) mandates “cross-training” on non-run days, and I have no doubt that jūjutsu fits the bill.
Dee had a brilliant idea this morning: “We’re taking the day off,” she announced. “No swim-school, no yoga.”
Of course, she then qualified it with, “We’ll just clean the house.”
Early in the evenin’, Right ‘round supper time, Mummy’s in her PJs suppin’ on some wine. Who are we kiddin’? It’s early afternoon
Last night we drank a magnum of Mumm (champagne) that Dee won in a weight-loss competition at work, and as a result we got a little bit silly on Facebook. This in turn triggered an automatic post via IFTTT, and I feel like I should explain a little.
Last night we took the first step on what I suspect may be a long journey: readjusting Jules’ sleeping patterns. We’ve fallen into just a couple of bad habits over the last six months, probably since he got sick and went off his food.
Happy new year! Good riddance to 2013 and roll on 2014, says I. We celebrated with the Melrose clan (the Scots) by taking a picnic down to Bicentennial Park for the fireworks display — it’s the park right near our house, so not too far to go and we had a good view of the fireworks from both the Harbour Bridge and in Balmain.
Did I mention we got the house in Annandale? Yesterday I met Kate, one of the owners, and signed a 12-month lease on 301 Nelson Street, Annandale. It’s expensive, but not that much more than we’re currently paying in Belconnen, and we get all the benefits of living close to the city — it’s a 20-minute bike ride!
Glad I won’t have to do this much longer – we got the cottage in Annandale! (Jules decided to wake up an hour after we went to bed, then when he finally settled it was only until 4.
